It dominated fashion blogs this summer, so no wonder Zara have relaunched their best-selling item for autumn
Spanish high street store Zara have revived the skort from the 90s, pioneering its return this year – and boy did it create a fashion frenzy! Bloggers and celebs like Millie Macintosh and Olivia Palermo were quick to snap them up and style the unusual shorts that resemble a mini skirt from the front. In fact, it was so popular it became their best seller, so Zara thought it should hang around a little longer. Great news since they hardly ever relaunch outsold items.
Now it’s back, ready for autumn in black and pinstripe, but still only at £25.99, so how could I resist?
This skort can be worn day or night, work or play. Throw on a blazer and pull on a pair of tights and it’s fit for the office, or go barelegged with a cami top and heels and head to the bar. It can also be dressed down with sandals and lightweight jumper, with a simple top tucked in tightly or loosely (fab for fat days). I’ve kept it simple with a white vest to keep the skort in the spotlight.
Zara are renowned for their minimalistic yet beautifully tailored pieces. Soft folds of polycotton cross over to form the legs, underneath a folded waist band that parts at the back to make way for the concealed zip.
They’re perfect for those hot, breezy days when you want to wear a skirt, but really don’t want the world to see your underwear whenever a gust takes its fancy.
If the darker shades are as successful as the summer ones, they’ll fly off the shelves. Click here and get a pair before they’re gone! For a cheaper version, check out Daisystreet.co.uk or thefashionbible.co.uk.
Will you be investing in Zara’s skort, or have you got already nabbed one?
